Selection option
A donor may take part in recipient selection where the programme allows it
A donor may share their criteria for the scholarship recipient they wish to support with Yücel Kültür Vakfı. Some scholarship models allow a choice among applicants who have passed basic eligibility and document checks and who meet those criteria.
- The selection option depends on the relevant scholarship and donation model.
- A donor may state appropriate criteria such as field of study, education status or area of need.
- Up to five pre-assessed applicants matching the stated criteria may be shared with the donor.
- The donor may select the recipient they wish to support from that limited group.
A donor cannot view all scholarship applications or all applicant information in the system. Information sharing is limited to the small group of applicants needed for selection or matching.
Matching
A donor may also leave the selection to the Foundation
Where a donor does not wish to select an applicant, the support is matched with an eligible applicant under the relevant scholarship rules. Applicants whose support is incomplete are considered first; where no such applicant is waiting, the choice is made with regard to need and assessment results.
- Not stating a preference does not prevent the donation from being used for its intended purpose.
- Matching considers eligibility, document status, need assessment and programme conditions.
- A donor preference does not by itself mean that an applicant is guaranteed a scholarship.
- The final process is carried out through the authorised assessment mechanism of the relevant scholarship programme.
Ethical and secure support
The selection process protects recipient safety and continuity of support
Direct money transfers from donors to scholarship recipients are intentionally prevented. This approach helps avoid unnecessary disclosure of personal data and reduces the risk that a recipient will be left unsupported if a donor withdraws their support during the year.
- Payments to recipients are managed through the authorised process of the relevant organisation or scholarship programme.
- No direct money transfer is made between donor and recipient.
- A donor cannot provide a scholarship to a first-degree relative.
- Applicant information may not be used, shared or made public for purposes outside the scholarship process.
bursverenler.org provides infrastructure for applications, documents, assessment and secure communication. Recipient selection and programme management are carried out through authorised processes of the relevant scholarship model.
