Kumbara Scholarship

Educational support that grows through small contributions

Run by the Yücel Cultural Foundation, the Kumbara Scholarship pools small donations and the TRY 10 service fees collected from scholarship applications, then returns the accumulated funds to young people as scholarships.

In this way, every application submitted through bursverenler.org also helps the Kumbara Scholarship grow, in addition to serving as the applicant's own scholarship application.

Application fees become scholarships again

Scholarship scope

Every TRY 30,000 becomes a scholarship for one student

TRY 30,000 accumulated

When the fund reaches TRY 30,000, one student is selected to receive a scholarship.

TRY 3,000 per month

The selected student receives a monthly scholarship payment of TRY 3,000.

10 months of support

Scholarship payments continue for 10 months for the selected student.

No fixed result date

The result is not announced on a predetermined date because it depends on the amount accumulated.

Application period

Applications are accepted throughout the year

There is no specific application period or deadline. Applicants may submit an application at any time.

Application validity: Applications remain valid for one year (12 months). Applicants who are not awarded the scholarship during this period must submit a new application.

Recipient selection

How is the scholarship recipient selected?

Selection by the largest donor

During the relevant fundraising period, the identified donor who has made the largest contribution may be given the right to select the scholarship recipient from among the applicants.

System evaluation score

If the donor does not exercise this right, the scholarship is awarded to the applicant with the highest evaluation score in the system.

Donations of at least TRY 1 can be made to the Kumbara Scholarship. When the accumulated contributions reach TRY 30,000, they provide one student with 10 months of educational support.
