Choral Achievement Scholarship

It is a scholarship to be given to successful individuals who have been accepted to one of the formations within the MAGMA & Boğaziçi Jazz Choir Family, but who are determined to be financially inadequate. It is open to members of all formations within the MAGMA & Boğaziçi Jazz Choir Family, regardless of age, gender, educational status, etc. This type of scholarship is an individual scholarship and is an opportunity for people who are entitled to be included in the formations within the family and who have limited means to continue within the formation.

Important Note: No payment is made to the scholar within the scope of the Choral Achievement Scholarship. If you qualify for a scholarship, a partial or full scholarship will be applied based on the semester donation amount.

Who can apply? How to apply?

There is no application deadline for the Choir Success Scholarship. The person can apply at any time. These applications are evaluated during the audition periods of the choirs and cover the period in the nearest time period following the audition period.

The application is first reviewed by the MAGMA & Boğaziçi Jazz Choir scholarship committee, and if deemed appropriate, the scholarship application is discussed at the first MAGMA & Boğaziçi Jazz Choir Board of Directors meeting following the application.

There is no requirement to be a student for application. Only the applicant must have applied for the choir audition.

The applicant must select "Art/Sport Talent Scholarships" and fill in the "Special Talent Scholarships" section under "Education". He/she should also attach materials such as awards, certificates, medals, transcripts, letters of reference, videos, portfolios, academic works, etc. (He/she can upload his/her petition and other documents to the EQUIPMENT section of www.bursverenler.org). In addition, a detailed explanation of the reasons for applying to the organization for which support is requested should be explained in the application form.

Applications are accepted through the website www.bursverenler.org. The personal data shared in the application will only be used by the relevant persons for the most accurate evaluation of your request. It will not be used for any reason other than the stated purpose or shared with third parties.

How Many People Does the Choir Success Scholarship Cover?

The Choral Achievement Scholarship covers the number of members decided as a result of the voice needs of the choirs and the evaluation of the board of directors for that period. It varies according to formations and seasons.

How long does the Choral Achievement Scholarship last and how is the amount determined?

The Choral Achievement Scholarship covers one year (two semesters) of the applied organization. The MAGMA & Boğaziçi Jazz Choir Board of Directors has the discretion to cover all or part of the amount of support requested by the applicant or to extend the duration of the support provided.

Evaluation Process

Başvurular, MAGMA & Boğaziçi Caz Korosu Ailesi Yönetim Kurulu tarafından, başvuru sahibinin ihtiyaç derecesi ve koro ailesinin ihtiyaçlarına uygunluğuna göre değerlendirilir. Koroların ihtiyaçları ilk sezonunu yaşayacak bursiyer adayları için seçme başarısına, ilgili sezonda seslendirilecek repertuvara ve ses grubu dağılımına göre önceliklendirilirken halihazırda korolarda devam eden bursiyer adayları için öncelikler geride kalan sezonlarda gösterilen müzikal başarı, devamlılık, istikrar ve sosyal uyuma göre belirlenecektir.
