EGEV Bright Faces of the Republic Scholarship Programme

Continuous support for equal opportunity in education

Ege Eğitim Vakfı (EGEV) is a civil society organisation established in 2022 to strengthen equal opportunity in education and help young people progress towards their aspirations on more equal terms.

EGEV aims to support students who may be at risk of being excluded from educational opportunities because of financial barriers. Its goal is to contribute to a sustainable education ecosystem in which students can realise their potential and move forward as confident, capable and future-ready individuals.

Scholarship scope

Support for 50 undergraduate students throughout their studies

The Bright Faces of the Republic Scholarship Programme is designed to provide continuous support throughout undergraduate education for 50 successful university students who need financial support.

50 scholarship recipients

A total of 50 university students are supported through the programme.

75% of places for Education Faculty students

Seventy-five percent of the programme quota is reserved for students in Faculties of Education.

25% of places for other faculties

The remaining quota is reserved for undergraduate students in other faculties.

TRY 5,000 per month

Selected students receive financial support of TRY 5,000 per month for 12 months each year.

Support period: The scholarship is planned to continue throughout undergraduate education for students who maintain the programme requirements.

Eligibility requirements

Who can apply?

Turkish citizenship

The programme is open to citizens of the Republic of Türkiye.

Undergraduate study in İzmir

Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate study at a state university located in İzmir.

Financial need

The scholarship is intended to support students facing financial hardship.

Maintaining academic and disciplinary requirements

Applicants must meet the academic achievement and disciplinary criteria determined by EGEV.

Students in Faculties of Education are assessed as a priority under the allocated quota. A separate quota is also available for applicants studying in other faculties.

Continuation of support

Support continues without reapplying each year

Scholarship recipients who maintain the programme’s academic achievement and disciplinary requirements continue to receive support until graduation without having to reapply every year.

EGEV aims to accompany students throughout their higher education journey. Continuation of the scholarship is subject to meeting the relevant programme conditions.
