Understand why the application form requests certain information

Form fields are used to support your eligibility for a scholarship programme and the relevant institution’s assessment of your application.

How the form works

Requested fields can vary by programme and your circumstances

The application form is not a single standard document. Some sections may be mandatory and others may depend on your circumstances, according to the requirements defined by the scholarship-providing institution. Review the descriptions and required-field indicators on screen carefully.

Enter only the information requested

Do not add sensitive information that is not requested, documents belonging to other people or unnecessary details. If you are unsure about a field, review the programme requirements and the field description again.

Basic information

Your identity, contact and education information form the basis of the application

Identity and contact information

Your name, date of birth and contact details are used to identify your account and contact you when needed. Keep this information accurate and current.

Education information

Your school, field of study, year of study, education status and other education details requested by a programme help the institution review your application against its eligibility criteria.

Address and living circumstances

Depending on the programme’s scope, information about residence, household or living circumstances may be requested. Complete only the fields shown, reflecting your current situation.

Information that supports assessment

Complete family, social and financial information clearly and accurately

Some scholarship programmes may request information about family circumstances, social situation, income sources or education expenses to understand an applicant’s need or fit with the programme’s target group. These fields differ from programme to programme.

  • Provide only current information that you can verify.
  • Follow the scope in the field description instead of providing uncertain information.
  • Do not add personal data or documents that are not requested.
  • Check whether the form can be updated if information changes.
Information supports assessment, it does not determine the decision alone

The system may generate an automatic and objective preliminary assessment score using defined criteria. This score is a support tool; the final scholarship decision belongs to the relevant scholarship-providing institution.

Documents and uploads

Upload only the requested, readable documents that belong to you

Document requests differ for each scholarship programme. Check the document type, currency and any upload instructions shown on the programme page and in the form.

  • Make sure that the complete document is readable.
  • Do not upload another person’s document or files unrelated to the application.
  • Use the Obtaining Documents guide if you need to learn how to obtain a required document.
  • Use the Document Upload Issue guide if uploading does not work.

Updates and safety

Check before submitting and protect your information

  1. Review the form section by section

Confirm that your contact, education and other requested information is current.

  2. Complete missing fields and warnings

Review any required-field or document warnings shown before submission.

  3. Track the application status

After submission, check the programme screen in your account for the application status.

Passwords and verification codes are not form information

Never enter your password, SMS verification code, card information or personal data that belongs to someone else in a form field or support message.
